There a lot of rules, and a lot of ideas masquerading as rules in gardening, but well-known Qualicum Beach gardener Donna Balzer is trying to point fellow green-thumbs toward the insights their own gardens can provide,” says Adam Kveton, Black Press in the January 30, 2018 Parksville Qualicum Beach News.

Kveton helped me share the garden good news today when he wrote about the Three Year Gardener’s Gratitude Journal: Part Diary, Part Personal Growing Guide in the local paper. He also promoted the official first launch for the book in British Columbia later this week at Qualicum Beach’s Seedy Saturday (Feb 3, 2018) where you can meet me and hear me speak at 10:30 AM.

Adam Kveton/Black Press. Qualicum Beach gardener Donna Balzer (seen here) and her daughter, Chelsie Anderson, are the authors of a Three-year gardend journal that includes stories, tips and encouragements for gardeners to take notes and learn more from their own garden.

Kveton’s kind words really hit target and I laughed when he quoted me as saying “[As a gardener] I think it’s kind of fun to rely on  yourself, so this  [book] is a bit of a self-reliance tool.” He nailed my sentiment exactly. If you are in Calgary and want to come to the FREE Calgary launch on March 16 we need you to pre-register so sign up here.

If you want to read Adam’s article in it’s entirety check it out here.

Thanks again Adam and thanks also for offering a copy of the journal to one lucky gardener via the PBQNews Facebook page.

Gardeners looking to buy the Journal in Qualicum Beach today should check out Alcove Homegrown Living at 689 Memorial Avenue. In Calgary a little bird told me the book is available at Owl’s Nest books. For online purchase go to my shop page.
