HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It’s time again for me to work on developing new talks, order new seeds and make a plan for the gardening new year. But in between all this hectic garden contemplation, I am taking time to smell the coffee and breathe in the ozone at high elevation ski resorts.

Too bad I’m not a perfect skier but you can’t be good at everything.

This year look for my CREBNow columns in the Calgary Herald and my regular garden columns in the Calgary Herald come spring, my call-in garden show on CBC radio and speaking events including the Calgary Home and Garden Show in Late February. I speak March 19 at the Edmonton Home and Garden show so you won’t miss out if you are in Northern Alberta. I have pending requests for speaking in other areas as well so if you aren’t on my list yet what are you waiting for?

I am doing a test run for my new talk this year at the Nanoose Garden club and I met the good people of that club today when I dropped by their January meeting. My newest topic?  “CHANGE YOUR WORLD: ONE CABBAGE AT A TIME”. It is a talk about improving your garden with three simple steps: Better Soil, Better Shelter, Better Schedule. Call me for details if you are interested in having me out to your club or gathering. I am also looking for SPONSORS so that those smaller clubs and organizations with less resources can afford to have me out too. I can’t just speak to the big groups! Fair access for all gardeners!

Well happy New Year and I hope to see all my favorite plants and clients again this spring…
