Why do you grow organic?
1. Because you want to save the wildlife from poisons in the environment.
2. Because you want to save your children and your family from poisons in the environment.
3. Because you want to cooperate to help all living things thrive where you can.
4. Because you want to grow clean food.
5. Because sometimes that’s all it takes. Calgary Gardener Jack Wootliff asked me earlier this summer how to get rid of his red aphids. I suggested he just spray them with water. He did that and he also sprayed them with soap and water. Well something was paying attention and this week he sent me this updated photo. He still has aphids, but he has added to his diner and he sent the caption “still serving dinner”. Thanks Jack! In my experience once you draw in ladybugs the aphids disappear quickly.
